The problem

Why Carbex exists.

Pyroprocessing is the biggest cost and the main CO₂ source in cement, an industry that is roughly 7 to 8 percent of global emissions. Every kiln now runs under carbon pricing and CBAM. Producers have to burn more cheap waste fuel, but that destabilizes the flame and the chemistry, and energy and emissions are still tuned by hand.

What it does

How it works.

Carbex optimizes thermal and electrical energy, heat recovery, alternative-fuel rate, and CO₂, NOx, and SOx across the kiln and mills in one solver. It pushes the alternative-fuel rate as high as it can go without hurting clinker quality, through Clinvue, or the burning zone, through Pyron. It keeps auditable energy and carbon records ready for CBAM and ESG reporting.

What Carbex does on the line.

Six capabilities, all sharing Clinkum's plant-edge platform, cement models, and audit trail.

01

Energy, minimized

Thermal, electrical, and heat-recovery optimization in real time.

02

Alt-fuel to the limit

Substitution rate pushed as high as stability guardrails allow.

03

Emissions modeled

CO₂, NOx, and SOx predicted and kept inside constraints.

04

One objective

Energy, quality, and throughput balanced together, not traded blind.

05

Audit-ready carbon

Accounting built for CBAM and ESG reporting out of the box.

06

Coupled to the burn

Coordinated with Pyron firing and Clinvue quality.

Where it fits

One product in a closed loop.

Carbex is the energy and emissions layer over the loop. It reads Clinvue quality and Pyron's burning-zone state, gets stress-tested in Cemtwin, and shares carbon accounting with Pourix.

Runs on: L4/L40S run the optimizer, Jetson handles edge signals, DGX trains the emissions and forecast models.

Built for

Who uses it.

Energy managers, sustainability and ESG leads, plant managers, and alternative-fuel program owners under carbon pricing and CBAM.
